In last week, I received about 700 spams and average 90 in a single day. Why they do that? Can anyone explain that is it a good way to earn money by sending spam? It’s enough, a new plugin has been added for my blog, every new comment need verification code on a picture which creates  randomly.

My wordpress blog version is 2.62, just a moment ago, I saw that notification message “You are using WordPress 2.7″, and update button lied after the text. That confused me that I have never update my blog to 2.7 in recent days, and it works after automatic update to 2.71. Anyway,nothing bad happends, so let it go!

Update the current blog version from 2.5 to 2.62. I am not sure that it’s useful to update new version. That spent me about an hour on doing things below.
1. Download new version from wordpress official website on server.
2. Backup all the files in the blog directory and rename them by adding extern “old” except plugs and themes related.
3. Unzip new files to the blog directory.
4. Update config file.
5. Update database.
Ps: It spent some more time on renaming files, I will write some scripts to do automatically the next time.

In one day, I saw my mail box that whether a new email arrived, but 42 new comments notifications comes, they are all from the fucking spammers, for my one post to introduce some books. I know they use some software to send the rubbish automatically to the mail list which contains mine. The rules for the comments in my blog is that if the comments block has one or even more links, it will be assigned to the state of waiting for approved and send email to me as a notification.

It’s not a big deal but very boring. Just one quick way to fix it, close the comment function of that post. After that it will not perplex you in some days, but the spammer will find another post and send spam to you again!
Why not add the spammer’s email address to the filter? Ho ho, you will find that the address names are all atactic maybe the name is created by a random program. They will always be new to your spam filter; I have no time to do it again and again.
Another method is to add identifying code before every new comment submitted. That’s not good experience for the guys who comment your post. I always enter the wrong code.
Any way, ok, I will fight you the fucking spammers!
